Hospital Policies

Payment
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. If your pet requires hospitalization, a deposit will be required. This deposit is generally equal to the low end of the estimate or half of the high end, whichever is greater. The amount of the deposit will be discussed with you at the time the estimate for treatment is presented to you.

Payment forms accepted include cash, check, and credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express). Third-party financing is available through CareCredit. Please ask our staff if you are interested in filling out a credit application.

Unfortunately, we cannot hold checks or accept post-dated checks. We do not offer billing except via a CareCredit line of credit.

If your pet requires hospitalization
Capital Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is equipped with all medications, diagnostic and surgical equipment needed to treat your pet’s emergency or illness. We are open 24 hours and there is always a veterinarian and skilled technical staff on site to provide outstanding care for any emergency. Both the referral and emergency departments rely on a close working relationship with your regular veterinarian to continue the care necessary to see your pet return to wellness.

Please note that we do not offer general veterinary services such as vaccines, dental cleaning, health certificates, and most spays and neuters, as these services are generally provided by your regular veterinarian during their normal business hours.

Visiting your hospitalized pet

We believe visiting your pets can aid recovery and ease your mind. Please feel free to call and inform the staff if you would like to visit your pet. The ongoing treatment of your pet is highly important, therefore visiting time may be limited. In certain cases visiting with your pet may increase their stress or anxiety and ultimately prolong recovery. In this instance visits may be discouraged.

Thank you for choosing Capital Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center.
